The Lindsey Agency

Making Your Vision a Reality

1. Can I request that my staff member test for COVID-19 prior to starting?

Yes, you can make hiring contingent on a negative COVID-19 TEST. While there are many places that offer free COVID-19 testing, we do ask the family to cover the expense if a free test is unavailable.

2. Do your house managers and nannies have special certifications?

Yes, we require all applicants to have CPR and First Aid certifications upon hire. We also have candidates with CEC, CDA, ECE, educator and more qualifications.

3. What if I need a house manager or nanny to drive?

You can request a house manager or nanny who is willing to drive; our search is based on your specifications. Most staff members have their own vehicle and are willing to use them on the job. However, families who provide a vehicle are often more desirable.

4. What should I expect to pay my staff member?

You let us know your budget, and we will do our best to match what we call the Three E's: Experience; Education and Expectations. The Three E's determine the rate you can expect to pay per hour. The more experience and education you require, the more you should budget for. Expectations refer to the specific duties your staff member will perform on a daily/weekly basis. Our family placement coordinator can advise you of the amount you can expect to pay.

5. Do you have a guarantee after the staff member starts employment?

Yes, all placements have a guarantee. We are your family's most-trusted keeper! All full-time placements (live-in or live-out) have a four month replacement guarantee, which is currently unmatched by any other agency. After the four months, the one-time application fee will be reapplied. Your family placement coordinator can provide details of the guarantee for your unique situation.

6. What about putting my staff member "on the books"?

While our primary relationship will be connecting you with our staff member, The Lindsey Agency will provide information that can help simplify the process of putting your employee on the books. Although this is not mandatory, many of our client families have used the service and found it extremely helpful.

7. Will I be able to receive a copy of my staff member's background screening results?

Yes, upon completion of the screening process, we provide the family with a copy of the results. We believe in full transparency; therefore, you will receive contact information for all references as well.

8. Is it ok if I find a staff member on my own but want a background screening conducted through The Lindsey Agency?

Yes, of course! If you have already found a staff member but would like to ensure that a clean background exists and no drug use is detected, The Lindsey Agency will conduct a comprehensive screening for you. We offer a host of "A La Carte" services.

9. Can I request vaccinations?

Yes. Most staff members will not mind, and in many cases have already been vaccinated.

10. What if my needs are unclear at this point?

No worries! Our family placement coordinator will help you define your family's needs (such as full-time and part-time service) and brainstorm the best solution for your situation.
